Hold a cracked cover by its edges: broken plastic is sharp.Squeeze each wire spring's arms together and slide them out of their slots.
Read the fan's model on the label inside, and get a cover made for it, or one the same size whose springs fit.
Squeeze the new cover's springs and slide them into the same slots.
Push the cover up until it sits flat against the ceiling.
Switch the breaker on and run the fan. Hold a square of toilet paper under it: it should hold the paper up.
A cover with wires running to the fan, a cracked or loose housing, or a fan that won't run: leave the power off and ask Handyman for an electrician.
