Bring in cushions, toys and anything light. Close the umbrella and lay it down or take it in.
Put the bins in the garage, or tie them to something solid. Lay heavy furniture down if it can't come in.
Unplug the TV, the computer and chargers before lightning comes: a surge can ride in on the wires.
Close and latch every window and door, the garage door too, and draw the curtains in case glass breaks.
Park the car in the garage, or away from trees. Strap the hot tub's cover down.
Clear leaves from the downspouts' ends and the drain at the foot of the driveway, so the rain can get away.
A dead tree or a heavy limb over the house: don't climb or cut it before the storm. Ask Handyman for an arborist, and stay out of the rooms under it.
