Tap a step to watch it again.

  1. Open only the panel's small door. Look for breakers with a TEST button, often white or yellow.

Never take the panel's cover off. Stand on a dry floor with dry hands.
  2. Press one breaker's TEST button firmly. Its handle should jump to the middle or to Off, and that circuit goes dark.

  3. Push the handle all the way to Off, then back to On, until it clicks.

  4. Do the same for every breaker with a TEST button, then reset any clocks that lost power.

  5. If a breaker doesn't trip when you press TEST, or won't stay on, leave it off and ask Handyman for an electrician.
