Leave right away with everyone, and pets if you can. Leave the door open behind you.
Don't stop to look for the leak or to open windows. On the way out, don't switch anything on or off, not even a light. Don't use a lighter, a match or the garage door opener.
A spark from a switch can light the gas.Once you're well away from the house, call the gas utility's emergency line, or 911.
Wait outside, away from the house, until the gas utility or the fire department says it's safe to go back in.
Never turn the gas back on yourself.
